1968 Cadillac Eldorado big V8 hidden headlights 67339 Miles
This 1968 Cadillac Eldorado has a big V8, hidden headlights, a spacious air-conditioned interior, and darning angular styling. And while all of that makes this one instantly attractive, it might just be the backstory and long-term family care that really makes this one irresistible. The story we're told on this Caddy is basically the dream of every kid. A grandmother, Edna, took her 10-year-old grandson with her to the Cadillac dealership in 1968. She wanted him to pick out the car he liked because it was meant for him. Edna drove this Eldorado for many years and then the grandson got his dream car. It's even on an actual mileage title, which means it has averaged under 1,300 miles annually. So the grandson certainly cherished the coupe and it wasn't his all-day cruiser. In fact, it was kept in the family for over 50 years and was only sold to the first outside owner in 2019. The Grecian White paint was a stylish choice when new. It has a timeless sense of style, especially after a respray later in life. It gives you a good gloss to help highlight the well-creased sheet metal. So the sunlight helps reveal the extra-long hood with a sharp middle point. And there's a well-defined line that runs uninterrupted into the doors. And the same line emphasizes the sporty kick-up on the rear quarter panels. And the super-sleek rear end was there to let you know that any hint of tailfin would only be space-age cool. And we love all the details with the form-hugging chrome bumpers, distinct wheel covers, and hidden headlights. It's all presented with the kind of fit and finish that shows good respect while also not being a museum piece that you'll be afraid to take on highway trips. The interior reminds you of what made these Cadillacs so special. It's a pillarless hardtop coupe with plenty of room for everyone to go for a ride. And the upholstery looks particularly nice with the button-top presentation on the leather (the driver's seat bottom is a vinyl replacement.) Many of the original pieces are present and working. It includes the AM/DM stereo, power locks, wood-like trim, and the full courtesy light package. And the more recent ownership has made investments to keep terrific luxury features working like the power windows and cold-blowing air conditioning. You sit behind the original Caddy three-spoke steering wheel and gaze at a clear gauge package. And all the controls are centered around you because this is built to be a personal luxury machine. There's even a fold-down front seat armrest for a bucket-like level of individuality. But on those days when you want to share the comfort with family and friends, the flat floor of the Eldorado means it really does offer relaxed seating for up to six total.
