Treated to a comprehensive frame-off restoration and kept in climate-controlled storage, this 1960 Chevrolet Impala Convertible is a stunning presentation in its Tasco Turquoise paint, white convertible top, white sidewall tires and white accent band along the midsection of the rear quarter panels. The interior is likewise appointed in a Turquoise houndstooth theme and features a split bench seat and padded dash. It is heavily optioned with the high-performance 348 CI Tri-Power V-8 engine backed by a factory 4-speed manual transmission, power steering, power brakes and dual exhaust.Accounting for a mere 5% of total production output in model year 1960, the Impala convertible is the holy grail of this vintage of full-size Chevrolets. The convertible was only offered on the Impala series, the top of the line trim level of the Chevrolet lineup. Moreover, this particular car is equipped with the 348 CI Tri-Power V-8, the highest performance engine option available at the time and featuring three 2-barrel carburetors mounted on a special intake manifold. Adding to its exclusivity is the factory 4-speed manual transmission, which was only offered on cars ordered with the high-performance variants of the 348 CI engine. The Impala trim level featured a number of distinguishing exterior characteristics including a contrasting painted stripe on the rear fenders with a jet-themed trim piece on the leading edge and a chrome Impala insignia, crossed-flag motif trim piece on the front grille, rear deck lid and rear fender, a six rear tail light arrangement, stainless steel wheel covers, and simulated vent trim on the leading edge of the front fenders.
