Originally burgundy and repainted silver.
The top end of the engine was rebuilt 3 years ago.Recently, I had the engine taken out and opened up by the top Porsche shop in town to diagnose a noise from the engine I was hearing. It was determined that the end play of the crankshaft is out of spec due to the bearing in the case being worn out. I got to the point of discussing the repair with a few 912 engine builders and close to freighting the engine out, but now need to sell the car for personal reasons. The engine is out of the car currently as seen in the pictures.
Within the past few thousand miles, the following was done:
- Added the beloved RSR0012 distributor
- Installed Pertronix
- Fuel system redone
- Top end rebuilt
- New brake lines
- Rebuilt weber carbs
- New generator
- New Bosch voltage regulator (I have old / original one as well)
- New coil
- New tires
- Hot start relay kit (no issues, but I was concerned as I live in the desert)
- New trunk and engine struts
- Boiled, resealed and repainted gas tank
- New fuel sensor
- New shifter bushings
- New plugs, wires, etc.
It comes with a lot of spare parts:
