1955 Porsche 550 Recreation More powerful 2165cc CB Performance engine
1955 Porsche 550 Recreation. Serial number 801 was commissioned cin 2003 and Beck factory set up that included paint, wiring, hanging the doors,instrumentation & upholstery. From there the rolling body was transferredto Randy Back of Chuck Beck Motorsports for final assembly & completion tothe owners’ specification. I am toldRandy has built over 800 Spyders and it shows. This 550 is solid, looks, runs& drives great.

I wanted a 550 but purchased a Boxster S instead as itseemed like a more practical choice. After several years driving the Boxster Sthat 550 itch had not been scratched so I went on a hunt to find a clean 550 thatmet my specifications. I required either a factory build or a build of top-qualitybuild. Too many of these are purchased as kits or rollers and then butchered. Thisone is built exactly as they were designed to be by Back themselves. My otherrequirements were standard color preferably silver, larger more powerful 2165ccmotor by CB Performance engine and disk brakes are a must for safety. Lessimportant but on my wish list were the Banjo style steering wheel & ivorykit (knobs) plus a helmet fairing & minimal badging. I found the ideal 550for me and purchased this from the second owner. As of this posting theodometer reads 5005 Kilometers or 3,100 miles.
This 550 looks & drivers GREAT. The clutch andtransmission feel like new, the engine is powerful and smooth and the brakeswork really well. 801 lives in a climate controlled carpeted garage with no oildrips. The car includes a matching zippered tonneau cover, Crow matching color racingseat belts, 12V trickle charger.
